Swamp People Everglades Officially Ends Season 8 + Other News

Swamp People Season 8 officially ended after Thursday’s Swamp People Everglades premiere. Like so many of you, I didn’t want this season to end. There were so, so many great and unforgettable moments that happened. And despite the trials of the gator hunting season, all teams successfully tagged out.

After the demands of many beloved fans calling for its return after Season 7 was due to be the last of the series, Season 8 came back strong and with a bang – and the ratings proved so. During its Febuary 16th premiere, the show landed on top scoring two back-to-back 0.6 ratings, drawing in a total of 2.5 million viewers. The finale special, which also featured two back-to-back episodes, ranked 2nd & 3rd in viewership with 2m viewers for each watching. Both episodes scored 0.5! These ratings are a GREAT sign for Season 9.

Thanks to all of the Swampers and their families, Team Swamp People, Original Media, and HISTORY for another awesome season! We can’t wait to see what you guys have in store for us for the upcoming seasons.
