Stars of The History Channel’s “Swamp People,” Junior Edwards and his son Willie, will be the guests for Cedar Creek School’s annual fundraiser Saturday.
The fundraiser, Fais Deaux Deaux on de Bayou, will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the Ruston Civic Center.
Both Edwards are swampers and hunt alligators throughout the 30-day season in the bayous and swamplands of the Atchafalaya River Basin.
The show that features the pair on The History Channel takes viewers on a journey to the bayous and swamplands of southern Louisiana for a look into their lifestyles.
The fundraiser will include a silent and live auction in addition to dinner and live music.
Director of Development Lynda Steed said in the past the school’s fundraisers have generated enough money through both ticket sales and auctions to allow the school to increase classroom technology and renovate buildings.
Admission to the fundraiser is $50 per person. Tickets are available at the school before the event. Steed said because the event often sells out, advance ticket purchase is recommended.
Junior and Willie Edwards will also be available for a public autograph session at The Argent Pavilion of Louisiana Tech University from noon to 4 p.m. Cost for the autograph session is $10 and includes an autographed photograph.
